Before entering the events of the Seerah, this opening part explains why the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ must be known. Arabia before the Prophet’s ﷺ birth was marked by idol worship, tribal rivalry, superstition and injustice, yet its people also possessed courage, eloquence and hospitality. Allah protected the Ka‘bah when Abraha’s army advanced during the Year of the Elephant. In that same year, Muhammad ﷺ was born into the family of Abdul Muttalib, bringing the first light of a new era.
Born without his father, Muhammad ﷺ was cared for by Aminah, Abdul Muttalib, Halimah and Umm Ayman. Childhood loss, desert life and honest work formed a young man known for dignity and trustworthiness. His marriage to Khadijah created a home of loyalty that would later support the mission.
At thirty-five, Muhammad ﷺ prevented bloodshed by resolving the dispute over the Black Stone with wisdom and fairness. As Makkah recognised him as Al-Amin, he increasingly withdrew from its idols and injustices to worship in the Cave of Hira. The world stood at the threshold of the first revelation.
